Christian Binder

Christian is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Studies. He was motivated to join the Environmental Leadership Program’s Wildlife and Parks team because he has an interest in improving our connection with wildlife in a way that is beneficial for both humans and animals. Looking towards the future, Christian hopes to continue working with wildlife in a field-based position. Some of Christian’s interests include hiking, backpacking, skiing, and skateboarding.

Clair Couch

Clair is a senior earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. She joined the Environmental Leadership Program Wildlife and Parks team because she is passionate about animals and nature. Through her experiences with ELP, her goal is to establish her career in the field of wildlife conservation. Some of Clair’s interests include art, music, hiking, and rollerskating.

Tristan Hanna

Tristan Hanna is a senior in the Environmental Leadership Program and is working towards receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies. He joined the Environmental Leadership Program and the Wildlife and Parks Team to learn more about what is being done to help wildlife prosper in heavily frequented and trafficked environments as well as gain practical fieldwork experience. His future goals are to go into the field of Wildlife Conservation with a focus on Animal Monitoring and work for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as a Conservation Biologist. Tristan’s interests include hiking, backpacking, wildlife photography, and traveling.

Ella Hopkins

Ella is a senior at University of Oregon earning a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies and a minor in Planning, Public Policy, and Management. She joined the Environmental Leadership Program to further her knowledge on human and wildlife interactions with the hope of acquiring more information on how to efficiently steward a balanced relationship between people and the environment. After graduation she hopes to gain more experience with field work and continue to work outside studying ecological relationships. Some of her hobbies include playing music, traveling, and swimming.

Finn Johnston

Finn is a senior majoring in environmental studies. He joined the wildlife and parks ELP team to better understand the impact recreation has on wildlife and to build trails that serve the public without harming the ecosystem. His future goals are to work in the parks department. Some of Finn’s interests include biking, surfing, and playing kendama.

Miranda Mell

Miranda is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies with minors in Earth Sciences and Planning, Public Policy, and Management. She joined the Wildlife and Parks team to better understand the on-the-ground monitoring that goes into building environmental policy. Post-grad, Miranda will be working as an environmental consultant, combining her passions for field work and scientific writing to advance renewable energy generation in the US.

Loralie Pulley

Loralie is a senior pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Environmental Studies. She joined the Environmental Leadership Program’s Wildlife and Parks team as a bridge between her two passions: wildlife and sustainability. After graduation, Loralie plans to attend Portland Community College to become a certified veterinary technician. Some of her hobbies include painting, traveling, and taking care of her pets.

Daisy Ohleyer

Daisy is a senior graduating with a BA in environmental studies and Indigenous studies. They excitedly joined the Wildlife and Parks team of the Environmental Leadership Program to get hands-on experience serving their ecological and social community simultaneously. They intend on pursuing a life of environmental work, farming, art, writing, and love for the world.

Alexander Segal

Alex is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. He joined the Wildlife and Parks team of the Environmental Leadership Program to gain hands-on experience with fieldwork and a collaborative work environment. His future goals are to attend graduate school in Europe and pursue a career related to ecological conservation. Alex’s hobbies include traveling, hiking, and music.

Gracie Sheaman

Gracie is a junior in the Environmental Leadership Program earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science. She joined the Wildlife and Parks Team to gain fieldwork experience and build a strong foundation for her career in wildlife ecology. Her future goals are to work hands-on in wildlife ecological research and restoration across the world. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, and traveling.

Annalisa Shehab

Annalisa Shehab is pursuing a BS in Environmental Science with minors in Science Communication and Biological Anthropology. She joined the Environmental Leadership Program and the Wildlife and Parks team because she is passionate about mitigating human/wildlife conflict and creating opportunities for recreation in which both wildlife and humans can thrive. This summer Annalisa will serve as a USFWS Pathways Intern which she hopes will kickstart a career in wildlife conservation.

Ethan Torres

Ethan is a first-year environmental studies master’s student from Aurora, IL. His thesis work surrounds understanding how mycorrhizal fungi can be used to improve plant community resistance to invasive species in post-fire landscapes. He is also the graduate student responsible for overseeing the work conducted by the 2024 Wildlife and Parks team. When not conducting research or field work with the Wildlife and Parks team, he is most often found playing guitar or eating goldfish.
