The Essay Collection: Ergonomics in the Bathroom

In this set of two beautiful essays, one will discover how culture has influenced how all people interact with having to go to the restroom. We will specifically analyze the ergonomics surrounding restroom-using by looking at how the early Roman-style restroom designs functioned and how these designs were reinvented with time. We will also speculate on how the taboos and lack of conversations about restroom-using in the western world began. Ultimately we will learn that when looking at the ergonomics in the restroom, it is surprising to learn that there has been very little development in toilet designs despite the knowledge that popular designs today are not a practical fit for the entire world. Many believe this is due to not having the conversations we need to about restroom-using to educate people about sanitation needs.
