Welcome to Warner and the World, a digital-first, linked-open, collaborative endeavor devoted to the study of the Gertrude Bass Warner Collection and the pathbreaking life of Gertrude Bass Warner (1863-1951). This blog bridges her material museum collection living at the University of Oregon Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art with the textual and digital archive housed at Knight Library Special Collections & University Archives and accessible online at Oregon Digital. It is supported by the Center of Asian and Pacific Studies and UO Libraries. Warner was a pioneering proponent of enriching cultural exchanges and educational dialogues between art lovers, academics, and regular folks, and we seek to link her fascinating story to the wider public.
