banananananana

If you are a fan of banana milk, you will go crazy over this banana milk cafe! Banana milk coffee, banana milk ice cream, and crazy ways to eat banana milk itself!

We chose the IV style of drinking milk, but there was also a spray bottle and heart straw. This was in the Hyundai Department Store in Dongdaemun.

Cafe Onion

This place deserves its own little shout out because out of all of the delicious bread I have had here, which is a lot, this place takes the crown. Found this insta famous cafe and had to check it out for its hipster artsy interior. It was swarming with people but had huge different rooms to be able to sit in. We ended up finding a room with a nice couch to lay down on.

The whole cafe was an art piece!

“The building in which the café’s located has a long history of its own; built in 1970’s, it was previously a supermarket, a restaurant, a repair shop and most recently, a metal factory. While the whole space has indeed been restored with ultra-modern features like wide windows, minimalistic furniture, and a well-curated garden, the café’s wide-open interior retains all of its old, rustic and broken-down elements. Just like any trending spot in Seoul, Onion is often seen on the social media and usually busy with young crowds. But because it’s got so much space and many available seatings, you won’t have to worry about waiting to get a table (even if you do end up waiting a little, there’s a bit of atmosphere you can enjoy in the meanwhile).”

That Pan’D Or white bread (5,000) is what they are well known for, and is so soft, airy, light, and sweet!!! The other bread (4,500) has walnut and cream cheese filling, and was chewy and a great complement with the other bread. We also got milk tea (5,000) which was nothing too special.

The Hunt for Mexican Food

Korea is becoming more and more diverse, and you can see it in the increase of foreigners and in their expansion of food. 4 years back I don’t remember spotting any Mexican restaurants. But now, in Gangnam I walked by five.

I tried Dos Tacos, which was a bit of a walk from the station. It had popular reviews and seemed promising because its called Dos Tacos, and I can’t turn down tacos.

This is one taco!! Probably the size of two American tacos. I think Koreans like to put that skinny cabbage in everything here. But this was so so good and definitely satisfied the Mexican craving.

Quesadillas. I found it funny how they individually wrapped each one. And served the tacos with the fork.

Okay I didn’t try this place, but its right when you walk out towards Exit 8 from Gangnam Station. It is called Cuchara Mexican Eatery and looks exactly like Chipotle!! Even the interior and the chairs!!!

Muchacho: good reviews online. (The cheese in the back is for a different restaurant, sorry)

Korean Pizza

Koreans take pizza to a different level. The crust is typically thin and there are a variety of interesting and strange options to try.

This one is from Fusion JJampong & Pizza by Cheongshin University. It was garlic pizza with whipped cream on the side. I was really confused but my cousin told me that you eat it together kind of like how we eat honey on arugula prosciutto pizza sometimes. I don’t do that either, but okay..

It wasn’t bad actually. Kinda strange to get over but it tasted good!

Now this baby was from Pizza School, a common chain that sells decent pizza for pretty cheap. They had this same size in just cheese for 5,000원. This one was the Irish Potato kind, which had french fries on top. A little on the heavy side but still tasty!!
