From Dallas to Toronto to Incheon, I finally made it! I rode Air Canada first and then transferred to Korean Air.
Korean Air was a fancier flight, complete with mini toothbrush/toothpaste kit and paper foot slippers to walk around in. Here is one of the meals, 비빔밥 (bibimbab), that I wasn’t hungry enough to enjoy. As international flights try to adjust you to the time change they do weird things like serve you dinner at 3pm and turn off the lights at 4pm, trying to convince your body it is nighttime. From all of the traveling and lack of sleep, my body was convinced! Slept for half the ride and watched movies during the rest.
After getting through customs, waiting a long time for my check in bag that never arrived, and filling out paperwork for said bag, I met my aunt and cousin at Incheon Airport. They took me back to their apartment where I’ll stay for about a week until I head off to Hanyang. I forced myself to stay up until 8pm (which meant me staying up until 6am, Dallas time) and then passed out. Slept 10 hours and seemingly conquered jet lag.
I spent this week before school exploring Seoul, shopping until my feet hurt, and eating a lot more than I should have. It was exciting to have a bit more of summer left to play!
