Marlene began coaching with Oregon as an assistant in 2011 after fifteen seasons of coaching at Pacific Rowing Club in San Francisco California. In her first season as head coach for the Ducks she led the top women’s novice 8+ to a silver medal at the ACRA National Championships in Spring 2014. Before coaching, Marlene rowed for Cal-Berkeley Women.
