Choreography: Tiffany Mills
Music: Godard (excerpt) composed by John Zorn, released by Tzadik (1999)
Lighting Design: Jenifer Craig
Dancers: The Company
Choreographer’s note: The music for Godard was inspired by the life and work of the French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard. The dance was inspired by Zorn’s music as well as Godard’s willingness to examine individuals, their idiosyncrasies, and inner churnings. The excerpt performed at the University of Oregon is inspired by larger work developed by the Tiffany Mills Company. Special thanks to Jenifer Craig, Rita Honka, and the UO Dance Department faculty and staff, all the talented UO dancers in my cast, and my parents. It has been an incredible homecoming! Thank you.
