About Us

UORDC
University of Oregon Repertory Dance Company

The University of Oregon Repertory Dance Company (UORDC), since 1998, forges community partnerships emphasizing dance as both a performance art and an educational discipline. In addition to the active commitment to share dance with Oregon communities and schools, UORDC’s mission is to provide a select group of UO dancers with experiences similar to those of a touring professional dance company.

Company members are UO students who learn new works and restaged repertory during Winter Term in preparation from a Spring season of performances, including the “at home” concert in the Department of Dance’s Dougherty Dance Theatre. During the Spring tours, UORDC presents free movement workshops, master classes, lecture-demonstration, and full concerts. Teaching residencies are free of charge to hosts and participants.

UORDC makes an annual April trek to Oregon’s Bay area for community workshops and master classes at North Bend High School and to perform with North Bend student dancers at the Hales Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Southwestern Oregon Community College. In May, UORDC travels to Central Point for workshops and master classes at Crater Renaissance Academy and to perform in the Crater Performing Arts Center.

UORDC has also been in residence in the Oregon communities of Astoria, Cottage Grove, and Newport, and Springfield.
