IMB Autoclaving Facilities
Autoclaving Services
The new IMB public-use autoclave is up and running! In order to use the IMB autoclave located in Klamath Hall, all users MUST be trained by Stu Johnson [(541)346-5073; stuartj@uoregon.edu]. Once training has been completed, you may request access to the online autoclave scheduling calendar by emailing either Stu or Autumn Wicklund (autumnw@uoregon.edu). All autoclave use must be scheduled using this calendar. And, when scheduling your time, please note that the autoclave will need some warm-up time before completing its run.
We would like to encourage anyone with questions, or untrained potential autoclave users, to contact Stu Johnson [(541)346-5073; stuartj@uoregon.edu] for training.
Because of the multiple autoclaves located in the U of O sciences, multiple autoclaving options should continue to be available at all times for University personnel, independent of the Media Room hours of operation. If the IMB autoclave is out of service, we suggest that you contact the respective departments operating the multiple units located in Pacific Hall for scheduling procedures and the rules and regulations of their usage.
Note: Due to the re-organization of Media Room Operations during the week and because the new autoclave is up & running, continuous drop-off autoclave runs performed by Media Room staff will be limited: we will no longer perform continuous runs while we are working outside of the lab; we will continue to perform autoclave runs, but the timing will be at our discretion.**
Note: access to the media room facilities is available after hours to University Personnel with an approved lab key.
As a part of the Institute of Molecular Biology we will be closed on designated holidays, as determined by the University of Oregon (current listing here). In addition, during the times of severe weather we will also follow the U of O inclement weather operation policies.
**Due to changes in staffing, hours of operation and available services may vary from day to day, depending on staff’s individual schedule.
