Tips for Talking to Your Duck About Alcohol | Live Zoom Session | 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. PDT

There are powerful myths surrounding the impact parents and family members have when it comes to their students’ substance use. For example, we hear from many families they do not believe their student will listen to them. Yet, the National College Health Assessment found that guardians were the number one source students turned to for information. In Prevention Services, we recognize that conversations about alcohol and other drugs may feel intimidating to initiate—so we want to help! In this session, we will breakdown the Parent Handbook for Talking with College Students About Alcohol and give you step-by-step tips on how to start the conversation, respond to challenging questions, and encourage your student to make informed decisions. Pre-registration is required.
