James Manning was appointed in December, 2016 to represent District 7.

Sen. Manning’s professional and community service started as a state corrections officer, and later a police officer, railroad special agent and private investigator prior to enlisting into the United States Army 1 April 1983. During his military career a few of his distinguished assignments included a Military Diplomat to the Australian and New Zealand Defense Forces, U.S. Army Assistant Inspector General, Garrison Community NCO, and Chief Administrator Supervisor United States Army Southern Command.

Other distinguished military leadership positions included assignments as Battalion Training Officer/Detachment Sergeant Major for a deployed unit, Postal Supervisor (Military Post Office), and U.S. Army Drill Sergeant (basic combat training). James honorably retired from the United States Army after over 24 years active service.

In the nonprofit area, James served as a Board of Director for Pearl Buck Center Inc., and volunteered as a Loaned Executive for United Way of Lane County (2011 campaign). Currently, he is appointed to the Bethel School District Budget Committee (Committee Chair 2015) and the Bethel School District Long-Term Facility Planning Committee. He is a Co-founder of a community supported nonprofit foundations that provides scholarships to underrepresented and low income area students.

Sen. Manning was appointed by two Oregon governors to the Oregon Commission on Black Affairs, serving three consecutive term as Chair. He served six years as a member of the City of Eugene Police Commission chairing the Police Commission Outreach Resources Committee, co-chaired the Gang Awareness Planning Committee, and member of the policy screening committee.

District 7 includes part of Eugene and Junction City.

Manning lives in Eugene with his wife of 39 years, Lawanda Manning.

Attended Northwestern University. B.S. Urban Geography; University of Oregon.

Nancy Nathanson was elected to serve District 13 in 2006.

Rep. Nathanson worked at academic libraries in Oregon and Washington (including the University of Oregon), where she held library supervisory and technical jobs. She also owned and operated an entrepreneurial small business called Photoscapes. Additionally, she has taught tap dance classes.

Rep. Nathanson served three terms in the Eugene City Council, and was president in 1995. She also served on the City of Eugene Planning Commission for five years. She has served on the Board of Directors for the National League of Cities and the Boards for the Lane Council of Governments and Lane Regional Air Pollution Authority. She has served on more than 20 committees and boards in Oregon.

District 13 covers north Eugene, including River Road, Alton Baker Park, and parts of Santa Clara and Fir Grove.

Nathanson lives in Eugene with her husband Steve Robinson.

Julie Fahey - Ballotpedia

B.S. Chemistry; University of Notre Dame

Julie Fahey was elected to serve District 14 in 2016.

Rep. Fahey has seventeen years of experience in the private sector as a business consultant and co-founder of a human resources consulting firm for businesses and non-profits. Through her work, she helps employers pay their employees fairly, build skilled workforces, and make their organizations great places to work.

Rep. Fahey has served as an officer in her Eugene chapter of PEO, a philanthropic organization which provides scholarships and educational opportunities for women around the world. In her free time, she is an avid hiker and volunteered as a mentor on a backpacking expedition in Eastern Oregon with Big City Mountaineers, which leads wilderness trips for under-served youth.

District 14 covers part of northeast Eugene and Junction City.

Fahey has lived in Eugene with her husband, Jake, since 2009.
