Over the weekend 10 brothers from our Zeta Psi chapter traveled to Vancouver, BC for the first ever international section 8 conference for Alpha Phi Omega. The University of British Columbia’s chapter Alpha Canada hosted an amazing sectionals with the theme of “The Start of Something New.”

Saturday included a scavenger hunt across the UBC campus where brothers split off into different groups with other chapters to perform tasks related to sustainability to earn points. The points then became currency to buy recyclable objects that each team had to combine to create a sustainable object. Each team then had to present their object to a panel of judges that included our National President John K. Ottenad, who traveled from Missouri for the historical conference.

After the sustainable service project, Zeta Psi members split off again to attend various workshops and seminars. Some members enjoyed the fireside chat with National President JKO, others found themselves learning about martial arts and some took the Achieve seminar from the APO LEADS courses.

The night ended with a blue and gold banquet with wonderful food, great performances and awards. Zeta Psi was awarded the Fellowship Program Excellence Award which was a great reflection on our 1,100 hours of fellowship in the past year. Our brother, and voting delegate, Erin Crawford was also awarded an Excellence in Brotherhood award for her outstanding contributions to the Zeta Psi chapter. Congrats Erin!

Sectionals was a great experience for all brothers that were able to go and we are excited for the next time back in Seattle. Our next step though is Nationals in December in Texas. Time to start fundraising!

Thanks to all our seniors that were able to go!
