Analysis and Conclusion

After mapping and analyzing the data that has been collected, we have come to a conclusion and believe that we know exactly where the Cholera epidemic began. Each map created by a member of Group 27 indicates that the most relevant “hot spots” are the Miller Theater Complex and the Beall Concert Hall. These building are related because both are common destinations for Performing Arts students, Oregon Marching Band members, Music majors and many other students and staff members. It is also clear to see through the maps that there are easily navigable, popular routes between the two buildings. Because the increased number of deaths, Facebook posts and Tweets around the Beall Concert Hall, Group 27 believes that the direct source of the epidemic is the white water fountain (pictured below) which is only feet away from the main entrance to Beall Concert Hall, located within the School of Music and Dance. Even though the Epidemic is believed to have been eliminated on campus and no further Cholera instances have been reported, be aware that the disease may still be active and ready to attack.IMG_4989
