Welcome to our blog. On this site, we will provide updates and host a conversation focused on the preparation of a new master plan for Universite Omar Bongo (UOB) in Libreville, Gabon. This is a collaborative effort that brings together UOB students, faculty, and staff; professionals from Gabon’s National Public Works Agency (Agence Nationale des Grands Travaux – ANGT); staff from the Gabon-Oregon Center; and students and faculty from the University of Oregon’s Urban Design Lab.
We are working together to craft a vision for development of the campus, conduct detailed analysis of the site, prepare conceptual alternatives, and design a preferred alternative that meets the needs of the campus in an economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable manner.
