Remixing Culture

I watched the TED video with Larry Lessig on creativity.  He opens his talk voicing his concern, and the concern of former intellects, that creativity and culture would decline and be “read only.”  Lessig believes that digital technologies can help us spread our culture and the things that we love to do.  There is a way that we can “remix culture” to take aspects of culture from the past and tweaking them using our technologies to make our own sort of culture.  He uses older songs and makes music videos using modern videos and it is not only extremely creative, but also entertaining and comical.  Do you think that our generation is using these technologies for the greater good?  Will this new culture prevail and last for many generations to come?
