We’ve talked about scheduling, sleeping and prioritizing, but what is one of the most precious resources to humans besides their time (if not more important)?
Money.
The two can go hand in hand sometimes. The more time we give to work, the more money we make (usually). This is the endless cycle of giving up one precious resource to gain another.
What if you could gain both?
What if it didn’t have to be a “this or that” mentality, but you could truly have the best of both worlds: more time and more money.
Today’s discussion is about doing just that.
Today we are going to talk about that one thing we can cut out in order to save our time and our money.
I’m talking about cutting down our bills.
Bills, bills, bills…we loathe them. Still, we have to have them.
We may have to have them, but we don’t have to have ALL of them.
Today, let’s choose to kick now bill out of the entourage.
Impossible? Maybe every bill seems necessity to you, but unless you are a great exception to the rule I think you can do it.
So, first let’s look at necessities:
Housing
Food
Transportation
Internet (non-negotiable)
That isn’t a ton right? Now let’s think of some of the “extras” that work their way into our normality:
Music subscription
Eating out
Cable
Gym membership
Clothing purchases
Coffee
Magazine subscription
This list could go on and on. Still, I hope you are getting the point. There are a lot of things that don’t fall into our necessity category that we could get rid of.
For instance, I think I am getting charged for a Tidal subscription that I got so I could listen to Kanye’s new album that I haven’t used since. That stuff has got to go.
Decide today what you can get ride of. Pick one thing, and get rid of it. The odds are you won’t only save yourself the money, but you will save yourself the time you were spending on something that wasn’t really a necessity.
