We want your experience on our campus to be as worry free and enjoyable as possible. You are joining a very strong campus community and although summers are a little bit slower, there is always something happening.

However, below is some basic information that may answer some questions you have:

UO ID Card

As a UO student for four weeks, you will receive a UO ID card which will give you some important benefits:

  • Unlimited, free access to the UO Recreation Center
  • Free rides on the LTD buses
  • Ability to use campus computer labs
  • Membership to the UO Outdoor program enabling you to rent gear at a very low cost
  • Access to electronic UO library resources
  • Access to the Safe Ride Shuttle
  • Some free cultural events, including the Jordan Schnitzer Art Museum

Getting Around

UO and Eugene are very easy to navigate on foot, by bicycle or by bus. With your student ID card, you will be able to ride the LTD bus system for free, which you can take almost anywhere you want to go.

Want to go hiking? Hop on the #28 Hilyard  bus at UO station and take it to the Martin Street bus stop.

Want to see a movie or go shopping at Valley River Center Mall? Take bus the VRC #66 bus.

Use the LTD Trip Planner  to find out which bus will take you where and when you want to go, or pick up a schedule book on any bus or at Eugene Station.

Housing

Part of your experience on campus is to live in the residence halls. You will be living in Walton Hall.You can expect to have one roommate from the SUSI program. All rooms have WiFi and there are laundry facilities on site.

On Campus Dining

Campus_233As part of your housing, a meal plan is provided. During summer term, residence can eat at Carson Dining. There are always a variety of food options to choose from and you will be able to find vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options on the menus. If you have any special dietary needs, please let us know so that we can work with the UO chefs to accommodate them. You will also receive a meal stipend so that you can go out to local restaurants or buy groceries.
