Mid-December

• Application opens for students from other colleges and universities
• Application remains open until all available positions are filled

February 1st

• Initial application review

February 15th

• Selection and Lab placement process begins for candidates from other colleges and universities

March 1st

• OURS application opens for UO students

April 7th

• OURS application closes and lab placement process begins

June 16th

• Arrival & Move-In Day for visiting participants

June 17th

• Welcome Orientation
• Meet Lab Teams and Mentors
• Safety Training throughout the first week

June, July & August

• Weekly workshops and scheduled laboratory time
• Sponsored outings such as camping field trips to Oregon Institute of Marine Biology and Newberry National Volcanic Monument & UO’s Pine Mountain Observatory

August 22nd

• Research Symposium – Participant poster and oral presentations

August 23rd

• Evaluation & program check out
• Visiting students depart 8/24

Fall:

• Present at SACNAS or ABRCMS Conference
