Application Timeline For Non-UO Students

2024 Application Now Closed for Prospective Visiting Students

Students from other colleges and universities are invited to apply to the SPUR program in 2024. Non-UO students with support (e.g., from the MARC Program) should indicate this on their application (email spur@uoregon.edu with any questions).

Typical placement offers start in mid-February. We continue to accept applications and make placements on a rolling basis until all funding is committed. We close the application once all of available spots are filled across all cohorts.

Several program cohorts are housed under SPUR.  Applicants will be prompted to identify a program based on their research interests. Applicants are encouraged to browse all program pages to determine what type of research is of greatest interest. Applicants can indicate which labs they are most interested in, but they will be considered for all labs the review committee identifies as a potential fit. Applicants need only submit one application to be considered for all programs for which they are eligible. In 2024, only one program, AHA, is offered for students from other institutions. Only research opportunities in labs that align with AHA’s mission will be supported. See the Participating Faculty page to identify supported labs.
