Taking a day off is crucial for performing our best at school, work, and in life overall. Here are my top 10 essentials to ensure your self-care day is refreshing and doesn’t feel like a waste of time.
10: A Good “Get Ready” Bin
The key to a successful get-ready bin is the quality of the products inside it. My essentials include a nice lotion, a gua sha tool, and a hair mask. These three items will set you up for success: the lotion keeps you feeling fresh and smelling good all day, the gua sha makes you feel productive like you’re in a Vogue beauty secrets video, and the hair mask will nourish your hair for a relaxing day ahead.
9: Movement
It’s important to move your body in a way that feels good to avoid the sluggishness of lounging in bed all day. Simple yoga and stretching are perfect for waking up your body and setting a positive tone for the week ahead.

Podcasts are a fantastic way to keep your mind active. My personal favorite is the Andrew Huberman podcast—I love learning about the brain and how to stay healthy.

Wearing a cute, comfy outfit can make you feel both clean and stylish. When you look good, you feel good—it’s all about shifting your mindset.

The most important element of a self-care day is a cozy bed. Since you’ll be spending a lot of time there, make it as inviting as possible. I hope your pillows are cold on both sides!
