Structural Description

The structural system of the building consists of concrete load bearing walls and glulam support columns to hold up the CLT panels used for the ceiling/ roof decking. Glulam columns support the exterior overhangs of the continuous CLT, spanning from the interior of the building. The structure sits on a slab-on-grade concrete foundation and below grade strip footings.

Roof Enclosure

CLT panels are used to create a rigid diaphragm supported by glulam columns. The columns are connected to the panels with metal fasteners. Rigid insulation and WRB with standing seam metal roofing capping the structure.

Wall Enclosure

Concrete LB walls are decorated with a gabion wall on stand-offs. In addition, the concrete wall slabs have geothermal piping running through them to creatr a radiant heating effect.
