This is an excellent start. Its great to work with Kyle to teach up on data collection and analysis.
I would still work on the nature of the theory for you – how to organize the overall idea of social interaction for you – it is not overall comprehensive but seems to be focused on street life / vibrancy. Think from the perspective of an urban dweller as either someone who lives there or someone who is present on the street.
what is the scale of your studies? is it a walking distance, a neighborhood or a street?
an you easy add some more indicators to measure? Maybe summarize your overall intent and then organization by which you are measuring – ie, aspects of the street vs aspects of the adjacent private space, or aspects of the shop business type, or architecture aspects such as windows, doors, canopy.
its important to focus on the graphics. Get to bake and have lines with a white background. perhaps model the buildings if even simple. pick the same view type. the linear space of so many blocks seen in the image above for examples forces you to be very far away. thusly consider no more than 3+ blocks as a limitation. it will help you. it may also help to model one prototype point location as a ground level store front and highlight the aspect you are measuring – you can see this from past student projects.
