1.1 Research Problem

**you really need to copy graphics and outline from previous research projects like this: HOLISTIC HABITAT, DIVERSITY OF SPACES, others

Format:

Pages 1-6 to Supersquare 8-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ in InDesign, export pages as JPG and upload to WordPress post with category 1.1 Research Problem. P

Pages 7-10+ should all be in post format 22×17 (taped 11×17 is fine)

Page 1: Ecological System (more important than the problem statement): what, how and why to study important ..concept image that you take ownership / filter. People + ecology (Look at Jesus list)

Page 2: News articles Madrid, 3-5: El Pais. El Mundo. Watch on Documentary. Links. Quote one sentence. One pic.

Page 3. Infographics: qualitative comparisons. Key images.

Page 4. Theory, 2 1 quote Architectural or landscape architecture theory on system (Philip to help) Conceptual images / clips of 1) culture and 2) nature

(next: Lola Shepard; Miralles; Sola Morales – Terrain vague (later with phenomena) Christian Norberg Schulz; Tadao Ando Philippe Rahm Kiel Moe / Wood Urbanism

Page 5: Theoretical framework: how do go from your broad ecological system, to specific study of that, to qualities to measure, to indicators as ways to measure that. AND any systems diagrams not in the scale of the site.

Diagram or Chart of Your Theoretical Framework (see examples from pass student work and or my theory on Social Interaction): Ecological System + problem, overall category of qualities, qualities to measure, indicators to measure them.   Spreadsheet cataloging qualities of the system.

Diagram of system without site (non-scaled) ….really control line types. Line weights.

Page 6: Climate date. Culture. History. What are the seasons? Which 2-3 climate datas are most relevant?  What might be your comparison / contextualization city for you / partner? Compare, Climate Zone Koppen See Hudson House Example

**What is the most important season to your system to study especially related to a problem? Ie flooding in fall, heat in summer, pollen air pollution in spring, winter cold snow inhibiting use of the park? *LADYBUG: Do not do radiance or sun path. Focus on charts.

Pages 7-10 DRAWING: ONE LAYER AT A TIME Firstly – what SINGLE layers do you map from the Elk data AND MAKE careful drawings deciding on: 1) study area definitely, 2) how to draw boundaries, 3) what layer to draw (use the sublayer in OSM component in Elk); 4)  any color variations possible in the single layer? See single layer examples from Berkeley class.

maps at (Lateral Office, Aldayjover, Scape, demonchaeux) – which layers are important?

  1. territorial scale (existing based on OSM data and future based on the master plan) ,
  2. Program site to river (within SocioHub)
  3. 10m x 10m iso/axo. Try to use dwg provided on Teams if helpful.
