Helping Students on a Universal Level (February 2024)
This training was conducted in partnership with Springfield High School, a Project SIMPLE implementation site to help build teacher capacity and build off of teacher skills focused on supporting ALL students through the implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies. The presentation connected evidence-based effective classroom practices with supporting student mental health concerns in the classroom.
Screening and Intervention Considerations for Students with Disabilities (January 2024)
This training was conducted in partnership with Portland Public Schools, targeted toward School Psychologist who are working with students with disabilities. Training consisted of a review of screening and intervention best practices, implementation considerations, and case-study discussions. Lead trainers: Drs. Geovanna Rodriguez and James Sinclair
Mental Health Literacy for Paraprofessionals (September 2023)
This training was geared toward teaching paraprofessionals from two Project SIMPLE High Schools about Mental Health Literacy, considerations of external and internal factors that may drive student mental health, considerations for disabilities, and targeted coping activities that could be applied to students. Classroom Behavior Support for Teachers (September 2023)
This training focused on developing Special Education Teacher skills on Classroom Behavioral Management strategies to support behavioral interventions to reduce students from leaving the classroom.
