The UO Symphony is performing Moussorgsky/Ravel’s Pictures at an Exhibition on it’s May 11th concert at the Hult Center. So the saxophone studio will be holding blind auditions during studio class of week 4 – April 23rd, 1pm, room 150. There will be a black screen and a hall monitor. Students who are not auditioning for the part are welcome to sit on the other side of the screen and listen to the performances.

NASA Region I Conference
Get ready! The UO saxophone studio will travel to Ellensburg, WA on April 11th to perform for and hear regional saxophonists. The North American Saxophone Alliance regional conference will feature UO soloists, duos, quartet performances; master class performances, and a performance of the UO Saxophone Ensemble. Dr. Shner is the guest artist for jazz night and will be featured with the Central Washington Big Band. See you at the Conference!
UO Saxophone Ensemble
The UO Saxophone Ensemble, Directed by Jessica Dodge, had its first public performance on Friday, March 15 at Thelma Schnitzar Hall, as a part of the Saxophone Studio Recital. Music performed was Dusk (2012) by Steve Bryant and Jupiter from The Planets (1918/2002) by Gustav Holst, arr. Jensen.
