Hi, my name is Shiyang Zhang. I’m in biology major. I come from China. It’s my second year here and I really love this place. AAD250 is my first art class that I take in this school, and I learnt a lot of new things just in the first class.
My favorite piece of artwork is an oil painting by Pablo Picasso, which is called Le Rêve. I love this painting because it is full of contradiction. The girl in the painting is sleeping, therefore, I think cool colors like blue might be better to express the feelings of silence and calm. However, Picasso used reed and yellow, which makes the painting lively and flaming. That’s really interesting.
