Assignment 7: The Human-Scale Inside

The smallest space of employment is being changed because of the shared economy. Now that you have considered the human-scale at the urban scale, focus on the interior space of employment. Develop the unit of employment space and use that to design your floor plans at 1/4″. Consider first design of a module of work. How has this changed until 2017? How does the shared economy affect this? How does the current AirBnB space approach this. Use this exercise to DESIGN employment space – what is special for your project – and to help develop your plans and sections at the 1/4″ scale for the final project. We will next look at a single structural bay and your design approach.
