Bruce Tabb and Nathalie Fortin will present a recital of flute and piano music at the University of Oregon Libraries’ Browsing Room (room 106) on Monday, March 12, from 7 to 8 pm. The program includes works by Gaubert, Fauré, Hüe, Bach, Debussy, and Martinů. The concert is free, and there is a reception afterwards.
Mr. Tabb holds a master’s degree in flute performance from the Yale School of Music under the tutelage of the late Thomas Nyfenger. Other teachers include Julius Baker and Jean-Pierre Rampal. Bruce has performed in a number of orchestras in Connecticut and New York. Bruce came to Oregon in 1992 to join the library faculty at the University of Oregon Libraries, where he is the Special Collections Librarian. Bruce continues to be active in music, playing recitals in Oregon and his home state of North Carolina.
Ms. Fortin has collaborated with artists in Canada, Europe, and the United States. She regularly performs at Lane Community College, with Eugene Opera, at the Oregon Bach Festival, at the University of Oregon Community Institute, and at the Shedd Institute for the Arts. Ms. Fortin is currently a member of the Columbia Piano Trio, the Cascades Classical Music Foundation, and the Eugene Gleemen, the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, and Cascadia Concert Opera
