Conservation Planning / GIS Mapping

We do quite a bit of GIS analysis in the Price Science Commons VizLab and Google Earth is a big part of what use and demonstrate in the space.  However, we also do our own research like this work-up of a conservation plan for Rodrigues Island in the Indian Ocean.  Using QGIS to create the shapefile layers and ArcGIS to upload the finished project into the conservation GIS mapping data repository, Data Basin, we have made these files available to anyone that might want to use them.  Click on the image or on this link here to get my data set on Rodrigues Island. Given the 10 x 20 ft surface area of the video wall, onscreen GIS mapping using QGIS is breeze compared to a much smaller computer screen.
