Building Landscapes in 3D

For the last four years we have been building 3D landscapes to better understand micro-habitats.  Here is our very first 3D generated landscape using Agisoft Photoscan (Now called Metashape) made for a talk on the use of UAV / Drones in conservation work. It is a rock outcrop in the area of Monterey, California that supports a rare lichen species known as a cloud lichen (Niebla cephalota). The work was presented at the Society for Conservation GIS in July, 2014.
