Eportfolio

Introduction

My name is Sarah Lindner and I am currently a Junior at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.  In Spring 2015, I will graduate from the University of Oregon with my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Non-Profit Administration. After I graduate, I will be attending George Fox Evangelical Seminary in Portland, Oregon to get my Masters in Divinity because my ultimate career goal is to become a Pastor.

I decided to pursue ministry as a career several years ago when I realized that I was passionate about helping people grow and develop their lives around their spiritual beliefs. Currently, I am in the second of three steps towards pastoral ordination in the Free Methodist Denomination of the Protestant Church.

First, however, I decided to get a degree in Business Administration because of the benefits that gaining business knowledge would give me as the leader of a church, which is essentially a small non-profit business. I was also interested in getting a business degree because of the emphasis that it places on leadership development and public communication, both of which are important skills in pastoral ministry.

I have created this Eportfolio in order to demonstrate the skills that I have gained throughout my college experience that have prepared me for my future academic and career goals. Four of the specific skills that are included in this Eportfolio are collaboration skills, emotional intelligence, professional communication skills, and the ability to understand effective leadership models.
