Welcome back to another year!
SAACS will be having our first meeting of the school year this Thursday, 9/28, at 6pm in Klamath 107.
During the meeting we’ll be having our officer elections for the year and planning for the term. If you want to run for an officer position you’re free to do so, there are no prerequisites, just show up. We do a simple vote to decide who takes a position.
Also, there will be cookies and possibly other goodies. Hope everyone can make it!
SAACS will be having a short meeting on 4/13 about raising money for the club in KLA 107 at 6pm.
Last week we were discussing different options for raising money and the main idea that people liked was doing a bake sale of some kind instead of another T-shirt sale.
If you have any other ideas, please come to the meeting and let us know. We’ll discuss the options and plan the event.
We’ll be having our first meeting of the term Thursday April 7th at 6pm in Klamath 107!
We’ll be discussing plans for the term and the upcoming STEMposium event Friday, april 7th.
STEMposium is an annual event focused on getting middle school students interested in science by having them meet people actively pursuing careers in STEM and by doing fun experiments. This year the focus of STEMposium is glaciers and the impact of them melting. The event is composed of different workshops which the students rotate through. We’ll be assisting with the workshops but we don’t have to prepare anything beforehand.
Join us on February 23rd at 6PM, in KLA 107!
SAACS will be hosting a speaker from Bend Research, a pharmaceutical drug development company in Eastern Oregon. They serve a large number of companies including Nike!
Speaking to us will be their Senior Research Chemist, Zach Martin who will tell us all about their capsugel research and manufacturing. Bend Research also takes summer interns.
If you are interested in an internship, or what kinds of jobs you can get with a chemistry degree, or in the pharmaceutical development process, be sure to be at our meeting tomorrow in KLA 107 at 6pm!
