Pollinator Conservation Plan
After performing extensive research on native pollinator groups and plants, we established a written conservation plan that is specific to the habitat of Whitewater Ranch. Sections of this plan include site management, priority pollinators, conservation goals, nesting and overwintering areas, and pest management.
Specific management methods and recommendations have been prepared to provide future Riparian Restoration teams with the initial implementation of the conservation plan.

Pollinator Certification
A professional pitch was given to our community partners (through a remote Zoom conference) with a recommendation for a pollinator certification.
While the organic blueberry farm already has multiple certifications under its belt, demonstrating its ability to be pollinator friendly would provide additional benefits such as exhibiting eco-consciousness and emphasizing the importance of pollinators in the food system. Additionally, the blueberries are likely to acquire more buyers.
After comparing two pollinator certification options, the Xerces Society Bee Better pollinator certification proved to be a stronger choice for Whitewater Ranch. This was determined based on four major criteria; program credibility, land requirements, the application process, and potential benefits for the ranch.
