Welcome to the Language Revitalization Lab homepage!
The Language Revitalization Lab (LRL) was established in 2019 as an expression of the University of Oregon (UO) Linguistics Department’s commitment to support language revitalization efforts on campus, regionally, and internationally. The LRL is centrally located on the UO campus in Straub Hall 261.
The LRL researches language revitalization in a diversity of contexts and aims to contribute to the growing field of language revitalization around the world. The LRL serves as a resource for the growing community of language revitalization practitioners at UO and regionally.
We recognize that the LRL is situated on Kalapuya Ilihi, the traditional homelands of the Kalapuya People of the Willamette Valley, whose descendants are now citizens of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and other tribes in the Pacific Northwest.
