By focusing on awareness and observations skills, kindergarteners have the opportunity to learn about the natural world through all their senses. The in-class lesson introduces them to the joy of exploring the natural world through story time and a few games designed to prepare them for their field trip. The field trip introduces kindergarteners to the joy of exploring the natural world using sensory awareness games and scavenger hunts. The focus of these events is to inspire keen observation using all their senses.

In three Adams classrooms, we read an interactive picture book as well as practiced listening and visual observation skills to help inspire excitement for their field trip.

We welcomed over 60 students to explore the Riverbank trail, building small elf or fairy homes and journaling about making river rock friends. By the end of the day everyone fully agreed that Our River Rocks!
