Accessibility

The 2018 organizers and accessibility committee welcome you to email Camisha Russell <camishar@uoregon.edu> and/or Kit Connor <kconnor@uoregon.edu> with any dietary, spatial, lighting, or other specifications that will be important in making the conference accessible. In addition, an ASL interpreter can also be available upon request– two weeks advance notice, if possible, for ASL interpretation would be appreciated. Please note any information shared is assumed to be confidential, and made available only to the organizers listed above, unless you determine it should be shared with others to help facilitate the access in question (such as with a moderator). If you determine this to be the case, you are welcome to speak to others directly, or the accessibility committee can share this information (anonymously or non-anonymously) as preferred on your behalf.

The accessibility committee asks that conference presenters refrain from using powerpoint or projector during their presentations. In addition we would like to request that conference presenters, moderators, and participants do not alter or change overhead lights or blinds from how they are set up in the conference space, use flash photography, phones or laptops in the conference room for accessibility reasons. The conference room (Knight Browsing Room) will be a nut free space. Please do not bring foods containing nuts into the room, and please wash your hands if consuming nut based products outside the room, before re-entering the space.

Complete accessibility conference guidelines for presenters, moderators, and participants here.

Note: A service dog who sheds will be in attendance at the conference.

Should this be a concern for anyone regarding allergies or other reasons, please let the conference organizers listed above know in advance so accessible arrangements can be made for both parties.
