Jesus’ Miracles as Proof of His Divinity

In the Gospel of John, miracles are used to convince people that Jesus is God and that his promises are real. John wants his readers to know that Jesus is something special and something different, and we see this from the beginning of the book: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it” (John 1:1-5). Since we see that John’s goal is for people to see the significance of Jesus, it makes sense that Jesus would have miraculous powers, which John therefore emphasizes. For example, after Jesus feeds the five thousand, everybody was amazed at the acts he had done and they believed that he was “indeed the prophet who [was] to come into the world” (John 6:14). Jesus’ final miracle, the resurrection of Lazarus, not only proved of the miracles he could perform, but also to show of what Jesus had promised to his disciples: that they would raise to a new life in glory. Therefore, the purpose of miracles in the Gospel of John was to prove that Jesus was in fact God.

  1. Remember there was a girl in the main pic wonder if she relates 1 before Jesus on this chapter.?

    • It is surprising to me how people do not examine facts properly.
Proofs of the divinity of Jesus:
      1. “If you have faith like a mustard seed, you can move a mountain” Jesus said.
And indeed, the Catholic bishop, in Cairo, Egypt, in 976 a.d. moved the Mokattam mountain, when he was pressed by the Moslem ruler to prove the Bible statement.
      2. In Jerusalem every Holy Saturday for over 1000 years, a miracle is performed in the form of fire originating from Christ’ tomb. It does not burn for a period of 33 hours, it is available to watch year after year on “You Tube”
      3. Christian healing which has been done by Christ and his disciples years after he was crucified, has started again by a lady, Mary Baker Eddy, in late 19th century. She called it Christian healing, and it is still available to this day by many Protestant healers to this day.
      4. The discovery of the Ark of the Covenant by Ron Wyatt an American, in a beautiful number of videos on “You Tube”. Add to this, he found some blood on the Ark, which was analysed by a lab in Jerusalem, and they found it alive, with a number of chromosomes of 24, 23 genes from a mother, and only one male gene, but no paternal genes, which means it was from a person who had no father, like Jesus.
With all these proofs, it is very difficult not to believe that Jesus is real divinity, and all that he preached is truth itself.
      5. All the miracles performed by the Catholic saints, without which they could not be consecrated saints in the Catholic Church. Over 150 of these are considered not corrupt, and whose pictures are found on the net, mostly on “you tube”
      6. The miraculous appearances of the Blessed Virgin Mary to many people, and including miraculous elements, like the picture of the Virgin of Guadalupe on a poor man’s robe, in Mexico, which has lasted about 500 years, warn by Juan Diego.
Also the many apparitions of St Mary , in Fatima, medjugorge, and many others.

  2. There is no unambiguous statement in the bible where Jesus claimed to be God or that we should worship him. Jesus was a creation of God. Jesus performed miracles only through God and not on his own.

    • He “remez” He was the messiah by quoting Isaiah. If you understood how rabbi’s of His day taught.. you would get the “hint”.

    • Jesus knew very well that the reason they wanted to stone Him was because He did in fact claim to be God. Before Abraham was, I AM.

  3. There is only one God and he’s the God of Abraham and Moses and Jacob and Jesus and finally Muhammad. He has no partners or equals and is the only divine ruler and is the only one to whom we pray.
    Almighty Allah Kareem
