The miraculous event that marks the beginning of the apostles mission in Jerusalem is when they are filled with the Holy Spirit and can speak in the native tongue of many individuals in the crowd. The crowd was astonished of the fact that the apostles could talk to all different groups of people in their native language. This might suggest a reversal from the Tower of Babel. Luke lists all of the ethnicities participating in the Pentacost event which suggests that the growth of Christianity was a universal concept. Many people sought opposition towards this new religion and called the apostles to be filled with new wine. A slander term which meant to be drunk. Peter overcomes this by saying that it is only 9 o’clock in the morning. Such talk of being drunk is absurd. These early events such as the mission to Samaria and the Ethiopian eununch are prime examples of the growth in the church unfolding. This is going accordingly to the divine plan because Philip is constantly guided by angels of the Lord to baptize people. And once they became baptized, all of them immediately understood scripture and saw right through fake magic tricks.
