We are delighted to announce that Dr. Robert Chavez will be joining our department next year as an Assistant Professor in the social-personality area. Dr. Chavez studies how we think about ourselves and others, how those two types of thinking interact, and how they are represented in the brain.

He adds,

“Broadly speaking, the future of psychological science is happening right now at University of Oregon. The faculty and students are among the most open and forward-thinking group of researchers in the country. I could not be more excited to join such a steadfast group of people who underscore and value the science in psychology and neuroscience.”

Dr. Chavez completed his doctoral work at Dartmouth College and a post-doctoral fellowship at The Ohio State University. Welcome, Dr. Chavez!
