The Final Product

Pres Trail is located just slightly north of The University of Oregon in Alton Baker Park and near Autzen stadium. The trail was actually thought up by Pre himself but was not completed until after his death in 1975. Pre had admired the running courses that he had seen in Europe and wanted to create a similar course that he could use to train on in Eugene. He also wanted other people to use the trail to get excited about running for their health. The trail consists of three main loops: southeast loop (the big loop), center (parcourse loop), and the northwest (bottom loop). The trail stretches about four miles long. After Pre’s death the city of Eugene along with The University of Oregon worked to finalize the trail. The trail today is a popular place where many people come to run/walk and local schools hold cross country competitions.
