Commencement Information

PPPM pre-commencement celebration

The Sunday reception by Hendricks Hall is a department-only event with graduating students’ families and friends, and recognition of each cohort, plus a few student awards. It’s a relaxing, socializing time and terrific photo opportunity, and to introduce your family and significant others to your faculty. You can sit wherever you want to, with your group, cap and gown is optional (remembering this is not commencement), you will get called to the front with your cohort/program. Students usually like to wear something a little dressy to this event. All of the PPPM faculty (or most of them) will be in full regalia and have good things to say about how hard you have worked on your degree and what good things PPPM students accomplish in their careers.

Then, bring your families to the College of Design Commencement on Monday, which is formal. The graduates sit within their department groups in their regalia, separate from families, get called to the stage individually to shake the Dean’s hand, receive a diploma cover, and get a professional photo that you might like to purchase.
