Teaching Resources

  • Classroom Assignments and Scheduling
    • Classrooms are assigned during the scheduling process for each term. Submit your room preferences on your annual Teaching Preferences form. Once classrooms are assigned, the undergraduate coordinator will email faculty for review. If there are any issues with the classroom assignments, please email Katie Robison at krobison@uoregon.edu.
    • Scheduling takes place throughout the year, as each term is prepared approximately six months in advance. If there are specific scheduling needs that were not specified on your annual Teaching Preferences form, email Katie Robison at krobison@uoregon.edu.
  • Course Material Adoption
    • Course material adoptions are managed through the Duck Store and completed using Verba Collect. Beginning around week 2 of each term you should start receiving emails from the Duck Store about the course material adoption deadline for the following term, which is usually around week 5 of that term. Forward the first one of these emails to the faculty/GE listservs, highlighting for them the deadline in the email and letting them know that desk or exam copies are not automatically ordered for them (provide the link to the department form). Click here for the Duck Store instructions for adopting materials.
  • Course Packets
    • If you wish to create a course packet using various copyrighted materials, it will need to go through Print Services. Print Services will research and obtain copyright permissions for your course packet so that intellectual  property is protected. For more information about creating a course packet, click here.
  • Course Reserves
    • Course Reserves are materials (i.e. library and instructor owned books, videos, audio recordings etc.) required for coursework that are placed in specially designated areas within the library and given a shortened loan period. Information and instructions can be found here
  • Course Syllabi
    • As you finalize your syllabi, please email a copy to polisci@uoregon.edu  so we can archive a copy for transfer articulations and personal files. We will assume these are generally not to be circulated publicly unless you tell us otherwise. Click here to view the most up-to-date syllabus requirements (policy)

      • Faculty and staff are responsible for protecting the identity of students and keeping student grades confidential. Grades are entered online using DuckWeb and may NOT be posted publicly on doors or elsewhere, if a personal identifier (name, UO ID, etc.) is linked to the grade. If faculty and staff needs to post grades or evaluations on websites or on office doors,  the Registrar has created a mechanism that can be used to generate code numbers for students enrolled in their courses- Click here for code number generator

  • Textbook Adoption
    • Adoption dates and submission information to the DuckStore can be found here
  • Waitlisting a Course
    • Instructors have the option of adding a waitlist to any of their courses without the need for constant monitoring. To activate this option, please email Katie Robison at krobison@uoregon.edu
    • Students wishing to join a waitlist for a full class must still either have all the required prerequisites or have those prerequisites waived by the instructor
