Graduate Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support, announces funding opportunities, and coordinates with the chair to develop the committee calendar
  • Materials for scholarships, award, and current student GE applications will be emailed to committee members on the dates established in the committee calendar
    • All materials will be forwarded in electronic form
    • Application materials will include a transcript and most recent status report
  • Admission and GE applications for incoming students will be tracked on GradWeb
    • All applications will be assigned for review, including incomplete files and those below the minimum qualifications
  • After top candidates have been identified, create informational bios and send to A&A committee chair for distribution to faculty
  • Work with the department head, department manager, and the A&A chair on graduate recruitment weekend itinerary, events, and travel. Once set, send the information to the A&A committee chair to distribute to faculty
  • Sends obligation reminders based on the established calendar
  • Runs reports and informs curriculum committee chair of courses that need to submit a proposal
  • Submits small course changes (dropping a course, title change, etc.) through CourseLeaf for review
  • Initially reviews submitted proposals in CourseLeaf. Will ensure that all required fields are completed and that a syllabus has been uploaded
  • Rolls-back proposals that need corrections in CourseLeaf
  • Facilitates faculty vote
  • Approves courses in CourseLeaf so that they are sent to the department head for the final department-level approval
  • Provides and coordinates data for annual curriculum assessment report, due each fall to central administration
  • Records management
