The University of Oregon Piano Pedagogy Program is part of the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance (SOMD) degree program in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy. The teachers in the Pedagogy Program study piano pedagogy at the University of Oregon under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Claire Wachter. Former teachers now have teaching positions in many countries all over the world, including the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and South America.

The University of Oregon Piano Pedagogy Program offers piano lessons to students of all levels from age 6 to adult. The lessons are scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3–6:30 pm and on Saturday mornings from 9am–12pm at the School of Music and Dance in the Piano Pedagogy Office, Room 203. The lesson schedule is posted on the door.

The 40-minute piano lessons also include basic music theory as part of the student’s musical training. There is a Spring Recital each year in June for all students. Participation is encouraged but not required.
