The Heating of Prairie Systems team (HOPS) works with range restricted species at 3 sites along a latitudinal gradient of 520 – 700 km. The sites range from Southern Washington to Southern Oregon and each site includes 20 plots with 5 replicates of each treatment (heat, heat plus precipitation, drought and control).

Through multiple studies, the HOPS project has examined soil flux and ecosystem response to climate change, shifts in plant demography and phenology, community composition, germination rate, and fungi/endophyte communities.
