River meanders

Two things that might be interesting in light of today’s presentation:

John McPhee’s Atchafalaya, in The Control of Nature. A wonderful essay that discusses, among other things, the Army Corps of Engineer’s control of the Mississippi River to keep it form meandering along a secondary route, the Atchafalaya River.

And landscape architect Bradley Cantrell’s “sediment printing spillway”, one form of computational landscape architecture.
