OURJ Editorial Board Application

OREGON UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH JOURNAL
Now accepting EDITORIAL BOARD applications!

The Oregon Undergraduate Research Journal is a student-run, peer-reviewed, open access academic journal that showcases high-quality undergraduate work in the sciences, humanities, and arts at the University of Oregon. OUR Journal is currently accepting applications to serve on the student editorial board. Members of the editorial board are involved in every step of the publication process, from peer review to copy editing and layout design.

To apply to be an editor you can send the following to ourj@uoregon.edu:

  1. Resume (should include GPA, major, and previous work experience, and extracurriculars)
  2. Explain why you want to become an OURJ editor (250 words or less)
  3. Explain any writing, editing, or research-related experiences you have (250 words or less)
  4. A sample essay/paper that you believe is representative of your writing abilities. We’re looking for something longer (a final paper, thesis, etc..)

NOTE: Please put items 2. and 3. on the same document.

Qualifications:

-University of Oregon undergraduate graduating after Spring 2019
-Interest in editing and peer review
-Editorial, research, and/or design experience
-Self-motivated, committed, and flexible
-Strong passion for undergraduate research

(Graphic design and/or an interest in managing our social media is a plus)

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout Fall 2018 and Winter 2019.

New Editors Needed

Spring 2018. We are beginning our search for a few new editors.

We are looking for individuals interested in research and who possess strong writing and editing skills. Editors need to be comfortable working both independently and in collaboration with others. Graphic design and/or an interest in managing our social media is a plus.
