Authors

Jack Carpenter (he/him) is a high school social studies teacher at Kalapuya High School in Eugene, Oregon.  He is a social studies methods instructor with UOTeach, the teacher education program at the University of Oregon.  

Rina Miyamoto-Sundahl (she/her) is a Dual Language teacher at Barnes Elementary in Beaverton, Oregon. She is the co-author of “The Time is Now: Taking Initiative for Indigenous Studies in Elementary Curriculum” with Leilani Sabzalian and Robin Fong (2019).  

Alison Schmitke (she/her) is a Senior Lecturer II and Undergraduate Degree Program Director in the Department of Education Studies, College of Education at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. She is the co-author of Teaching Critically About Lewis and Clark: Challenging Dominant Narratives in K–12 Curriculum with Leilani Sabzalian and Jeff Edmundson (2020).
