A Brief Introduction to Australia

Though officially known as the commonwealth of Australia, this country is in its own rights a major contributor on a global scale. Though the land itself is largely uninhabitable, forcing the population to the coasts of the country, it still remains a leading country in the development of individual rights and ranks among the highest in quality of life. Initially utilized as a penal colony by the British it wasn’t until January 1st 1901 when the 6 colonies we know today would federate and become the commonwealth of Australia. Its current Gini index stands at 34.30.
