Why do we need New Approach Oregon?

There are many people who would like to take marijuana policy in a direction that’s different than what Oregonians voted for. At least seven interest groups have formed. Plans are being made to gut the medical marijuana system; to establish a tax system that benefits criminals; to allow a small group of people to unilaterally decide whether a city can opt out of a law Oregonians overwhelmingly supported; to repeal the law in its entirety; to hobble the implementation process so that it is harder to win sensible marijuana policies in other states.

We believe Oregonians voted for something that is thoughtful. If someone proposes something contrary to what voters asked for, we are going to let you know about it and what you can do about it.
